Goat Milk Lotion Bar

I make goat milk soap but stay away from lotions because milk does not keep without being refridgerated. I have seen lotion bars and would like to try that. Someone told me about the optiphen and I would like to know more and if it will do what I am looking for and keep the product all natural?

Answer:

Optiphen is said to protect against yeast, mold, bacteria and fungi growth.

It is water soluble and can be used at all pH levels. It is said to be compatible with most raw materials but must be added at temperatures below 140 degrees F.

Not sure if it can be considered all natural. It is described as a "paraben-free, and formaldehyde-free liquid preservative system which consists of Phenoxyethanol in an emollient base of Caprylyl Glycol".

Good luck,
Cathy
