Goat soap no lye

by Anonymous

I want a recipe for goat soap using glycerin and not lye? Is that possible?

Answer:
You can't make soap using glycerin instead of lye but you can buy melt and pour goat milk soap in order to avoid the use of lye.

Many people confuse the term glycerin soap (another name often used when referring to melt and pour soap bases) with the product glycerin which is a clear sticky substance that is actually a by product of the soap making industry.

All cold process/hot process soap making requires the use of lye. You cannot make handmade cold process/hot process soaps without it.

What ingredients are in the melt and pour starter for goat milk soap? Where do you get it and what is the price?
